Welcome to Kwale County
Kwale county, along the Kenyan Coast, houses one of the most famous tourist destinations around the globe, Diani.
Known for its beautiful white sandy beaches, luxurious hotels, an array of restaurants and spots to cater to the needs of the visiting tourists, not all is as pretty as it seems.
A plight that has been happening for years and has gotten more limelight in recent times is the dangers and risks under-age girls face within their communities and society.
As of November 2021, Kwale county has recorded a total of 9,328 cases of early marriages, among these are also instances of abuse and defilement. And that's where we come in...
Why set up a Safe House?
We envision Salama House to be a safe haven and transitional place for girls at risk.
- Provide Refuge and protection from perpetrators.
- Assist in seeking justice for victims of defilement and abuse.
- Offer Counseling and Trauma therapy.
- Reintegration back into society and normality of life.
- Offer Pre-natal and Post-natal care to expectant girls.

Our Main Partner
“
In close partnership with Reflecting God's Grace Ministries, Salama Care is pursuing our common vision for providing a safe house for teenage pregnant girls. RGGM has undertaken the role of raising money and providing the financial support for the land and physical buildings. Through the generous donations of many supporters, this vision of land and buildings is rapidly being completed. The role of Salama Care is to provide staff and the hands-on ministry that will be necessary once the safe house is up and running. By partnering with one another, Salama Care and RGGM can bring hope, healing, and God’s love to young women and girls who have nowhere else to turn.
